Bozeman, Montana — The Great Northwest Challenge is set to return to the Bozeman Sports Park, June 13th & 14th, 2026, bringing together top high school rugby talent from their respective state for a premier college showcase and USA Rugby talent identification event.
What:
The Great Northwest Challenge (GNC) is a multi-day high school rugby college showcase built to connect student-athletes with collegiate programs while delivering high-level competition. The event kicks off Friday with a USA Rugby Talent Identification (TID) Day, where athletes are evaluated by national and regional selectors. The GNC is the only XVs event in the country in which testing and scouting are carried out for both boys and girls by USA Rugby.
Friday evening continues with a College Showcase Night, hosted in partnership with Next Phase Rugby and The Ruggers Edge, giving players and families direct access to college coaches, recruiting insights, and pathways to play at the next level.
Competition takes center stage Saturday and Sunday, featuring:
- Boys High School Division 1 & Division 2
- Girls High School Division 1 & Division 2
- U16 Boys Division 1 & Division 2
This structure ensures meaningful matches for all levels while maximizing exposure for athletes seeking collegiate opportunities.
