Play Rugby USA and Memphis Inner City Rugby Crowned Champions at the 2026 Urban Rugby Championships


The 2026 Urban Rugby Championships brought high-level competition, standout performances, and unforgettable moments to Dallas, Texas on March 21, as some of the nation’s top urban rugby programs battled for championship honors.
Throughout the day, teams showcased the talent, resilience, and passion that continue to define the Urban Rugby Championship and its mission to elevate rugby in under-resourced communities across the country.
Boys Cup Final
Saturday’s boys competition opened with two highly competitive Final Four matchups. Play Rugby USA faced Memphis Inner City Rugby (MICR), while Eagles Rugby squared off against Withrow for a place in the championship.
After impressive semifinal performances, Play Rugby USA and Eagles Rugby advanced to the URC Boys Cup Final later that same day. In the championship match, Play Rugby USA delivered a strong performance to claim the 2026 URC Boys Cup title, capping off an outstanding tournament run.
Leading the way for the champions was Amir Haynes of Play Rugby USA, who was named the Boys Player of the Tournament (MVP) for his exceptional play and impact throughout the event.
Girls Cup Final
The girls bracket also delivered an exciting day of rugby, beginning with two Final Four matchups as Play Rugby USA took on Eagles Rugby, while Memphis Inner City Rugby faced ICRON.
Following those semifinal contests, Memphis Inner City Rugby and Eagles Rugby advanced to the URC Girls Cup Final. In the championship match, Memphis Inner City Rugby rose to the occasion and captured the 2026 URC Girls Cup title, closing out a memorable weekend in Dallas.
For their championship effort, Antrice Jamison of Memphis Inner City Rugby earned Girls Player of the Tournament (MVP) honors, recognized for her standout performances and leadership on the field.

The 2026 Urban Rugby Championships once again highlighted the strength, growth, and impact of urban rugby programs nationwide. From the semifinal rounds to the championship finals, athletes and teams represented their communities with pride, demonstrating the skill, discipline, and determination that make the URC such a meaningful platform for youth rugby.
