SafeSport Certification Requirement - 18+ Members

December 13, 2024

Dear USA Youth & High School Rugby Members,

We hope you are doing well! As part of our commitment to the safety and well-being of all participants in our community, we’d like to inform you of an important new requirement for players and members once they turn 18 during the 2024-25 registration cycle.

SafeSport Certification Requirement

Individuals who are 18 years or older must complete SafeSport Certification to:

  1. Proactively Protect Our 18 and over Members: Ensuring they are compliant with the training needed to understand and meet their legal responsibilities as adults.
  2. Uphold the Highest Standards in Current Policies: Reinforcing our commitment to safeguarding the members of our rugby community.
  3. Meet Our Obligations Under the Safe Sport Code: As members of the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee, we are required to adhere to the Safe Sport policies and ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all, which requires training for all players who are adults playing with minors.

Please note: Individuals will not be able to take the training until after they turn 18.
